Galing Pook Foundation (GPF) Welcomes its New Executive Director

Galing Pook Foundation (GPF) welcomes its new Executive Director, Georgina Ann Hernandez-Yang.

She succeeds Dr. Eddie Dorotan, who led the organization for almost 14 years, and retired in March 2021.

Prior to this appointment, she worked with local governments across the country in her former roles as Head of Angat Buhay, the Office of the Vice President’s Anti-Poverty Program, and Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP). She served as Vice Presidential Spokesperson during her stint at the Office of the Vice President.

She also worked in the academe as a Research Program Manager at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, and a member of Ateneo de Manila University’s faculty.

She recently completed her Mid-Career Master’s in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and Master of Science in Social Development from the Ateneo de Manila University.

With Hernandez-Yang’s leadership and wealth of experience at the local, national, and international level–GPF is more than confident that the organization is geared towards achieving more in its advocacy for good local governance, especially during these challenging times.
