The Galing Pook Foundation congratulates the Bangsamoro people on the generally peaceful and orderly conduct of the region's first parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

This was more than an exercise in choosing leaders. Every vote cast in peace was a statement — a reaffirmation of the Bangsamoro people's faith in democratic participation, in self-governance, and in resolving differences without violence. It marks a meaningful step forward in the region's continuing transition toward a government that draws its authority, and its direction, from the people it serves.

We commend the voters who came out to exercise their right to choose their representatives. We also recognize the election workers, community and religious leaders, civil society organizations, security personnel, volunteers, and institutions whose quiet, collective effort made these elections possible. Credible democratic processes are never the work of one institution alone — they are built through trust, vigilance, and shared responsibility.

The elections are over. The harder, more important work is just beginning.

Those now entrusted with public office carry a responsibility: to turn the confidence placed in them by the Bangsamoro people into honest, inclusive, and responsive governance. That means listening to communities, safeguarding the gains of the peace process, strengthening public institutions, and making sure development finally reaches those who have waited longest for it.

In the end, this historic transition will not be judged by the peaceful conduct of the elections alone, but by the governance that follows — governance grounded in integrity, respectful of diversity, committed to social justice, and capable of delivering real, felt improvements in people's lives.

The Galing Pook Foundation remains hopeful that this milestone brings the Bangsamoro closer to lasting peace, inclusive development, and a future shaped by the aspirations of its own people.
