Galing Pook Foundation is looking for YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MENTORS and TRAINERS

Galing Pook Foundation is looking for youth development workers who will design and deliver the mentoring component for 200 CATALYZE participants from Pasig City and Naic, Cavite, and develop a near-peer mentoring intervention where a group of 20 CATALYZE participants will mentor 40 adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Galing Pook Foundation serves as the Local Service Provider (LSP) for the USAID- funded project entitled, CATALYZE, which is implemented by Palladium. CATALYZE promotes sustainable employment and improvement in health outcomes. It engages with young adults (ages 18-24) who are members of 4Ps households, have graduated from senior high school, and are preparing to enter the labor force. The project’s objectives are aligned with the Philippine Development Plan (2023-2028), specifically in enhancing social protection measures and creating opportunities for employment and healthcare accessibility.

A key component of the CATALYZE project is the regular mentoring of the CATALYZE participants and the empowerment of CATALYZE participants to serve as mentors for adolescents through a near-peer mentoring program. 

SCOPE OF WORK

Mentoring for CATALYZE participants

1. Design and finalize the mentoring plan for the CATALYZE participants, which should include 4 in-person group mentoring sessions per project site supplemented with online mentoring sessions;
2. Conduct all the mentoring sessions for CATALYZE participants in accordance with the approved work plan and meet the quality standards expected by the project stakeholders; 
3. Conduct remote mentoring activities through various communication platforms to support mentees across different locations;
4. Establish a referral system to possible partners that could provide further psycho-social support for the participants; 
   
   Near-peer mentoring for adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old
   
5. Design and finalize the training module and mentoring plan for the near-peer mentoring involving 20 CATALYZE participants who will mentor a total of 40 adolescents; 
6. Deliver the training for the 20 CATALYZE participants who will serve as mentors for the adolescents; 
7. Conduct regular monitoring, coaching and reporting regarding the progress of the near-peer mentoring; 
8. Provide ongoing support and guidance to youth mentors to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge;
9. Oversee and monitor the progress of near-peer mentoring activities, ensuring alignment with project goals;
10. Collect and analyze feedback and data to continuously improve the mentoring process.
